The 2016-17 Drug-Free Community Fund Grant Process will begin in late August. This is a change from previous years when the RFP was available in July. This year the grant will be posted on August 22nd and due September 23rd.
This change was implemented by the Partnership’s Board of Directors in order to shorten the time between submitting a proposal and receiving funding in February.
Contracts will be sent in the mail by the end of February. We are unable to release any funds before March. Grantees who have signed contracts can voucher for funds after March 1.
The Drug Free Community Fund was established in Elkhart County (and all Indiana counties) to promote comprehensive local alcohol and drug abuse prevention initiatives by supplementing local funding for treatment, education and criminal justice efforts. -Indiana Criminal Justice Institute
Every year, the Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership releases a Request For Proposals (RFP) in July. Organizations in Elkhart County are encouraged to submit a proposal which will help further the Partnership’s goals (stated in the current Community Comprehensive Plan).
Guest readers/reviewers along with the Grant Review Committee (consisting of the current Board of Directors, staff and a representative from the Elkhart County Commissioner’s Office) review all complete proposals.
If you wish to be a guest reader/reviewer, please contact Jess Koscher at JesKoscher@gmail.com.
The 2013-14 RFP for the Drug Free Community Fund will be released on July 8, 2013.
